Important Message

I talked to Master Southwick after class tonight and let him know how much my students who were testing struggled on the upset punch board break and we came to a decision: Black Boards for Everyone!!!!

Just Kidding.

Instructors can have the students break with a single or double upset punch on 1 board color below their required. Please post this information on facebook miss fetchen and troy on the website. This should help advanced students on this difficult board break. We want you to succeed and keep your knuckles intact. :)

We will also adjust any board breaks to those who have injuries.

Thanks instructors for all you hard work today. Board breaking days are not easy and takes patience and encouragement which can be exhausting so I just wanted to say THANK YOU!!!!

Note for all Instructors:

Please make sure that all instructors and students refer to us (all of us fellow black belts) by our black belt names not first names when we are in the public eye. We need to keep professionalism around us even when we are together as instructors to demonstate how students need to address us. I have had students and some instructors call me by my first name in class and master southwick mentioned to me that it needs to stay professional when we are around students, even around grand master, they do not need to call him stan and neither do we. With this tournament coming up and him coming we need to make it a habit to call him grandmaster witz not stan witz (even if he says to call him sta - DO NOT! He has earned that title and we need students to see his value and master southwick's and ours as well as black belts and instructors.

We All Earned Our Position to where we are in our rank and to go by our first name deminishes that accomplishment. We need to work extra hard at calling our fellow black belts by their black belt name also. I have caught myself calling them by first name and they earned that rank as much as I earned mine so I will also be setting that example myself. Help us all keep on task to be the most professional yet personable martial arts school. We are great and master southwick has helped us become who we are.

Forgive me for rambling on but this is a subject that master southwick and I are really adimate about. Please help us accomplish this goal to help our school becoming even greater than it is now.
