Black Belt Water Ceremony

9 Gongs = represent the yiching or book of changes, the bagua or better known as "DO" or "The Way

WHITE BELT Commitment: A new white belt promises to adhere to the teachings of the masters and to let go of ego and pride.
ORANGE BELT Change: a deep change is taking place though not always seen on the surface.
YELLOW BELT Faith: the marriage of hope and knowledge, you have experienced the path and look forward to the future.
CAMO BELT Combat: only through struggle to we tear down the weak and build up the strong.
GREEN BELT Growth: only in a well tended garden do nourishing plants flourish un hindered.
PURPLE BELT Spirit: the mixing of old ways with young energies.
BLUE BELT Peace: to absorb and adapt to change.
BROWN BELT  Steadfastness: finding strength in your true nature
RED BELT Power: love and passion, the most powerful forces of all.

Water and Dragon:

  • Master Dragon Guards: only the worthy may drink
  • Leadership: guide those that follow "the way", along the path.
  • Cup: Your capacity to learn. If it is filled with ego or pride you cannot put more knowledge it, the cup will just overflow.

You must first empty your cup to be able to gain more wisdom.

Student

Dressed in a uniform that represents the traditional eastern clothing. White is the color of death and purity. A martial artist must walk the line between life and death for we all die and a warrior must always be prepared to face their creator.

Presenting the Belt

The name of the Applicant is called, they respond with a loud "yes sir" they will approach turn and kneel while there parents are invited up to stand with the instructors. They will then stand turn around to receive their belt, thanking parents, and instructors. Then bow in at new rank. Then take place in the leadership ranks.

RED/BLACK BELT: Power tempered with wisdom.

BLACK BELT: Experience: when all the pigments are mixed together they become a dark black, the Eastern color for life.
